What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is a means of accessing your own inner resources to bring about positive change.

It is a natural state in which the recipient remains fully aware and in control.

Various strategies are used in hypnotherapy including relaxation techniques, visualization and positive suggestion.

Hypnotherapy helps you to use your own powerful inner resources to help with issues such as:

  • Stress management
  • Confidence/self-esteem/motivation
  • Weight control
  • Stopping smoking
  • Pain management

 

What can you expect to happen in a treatment

I offer a free 30 minute consultation.  This gives the client the opportunity to ask any questions about hypnotherapy,or voice any concerns.  Most importantly it gives the client the opportunity to see if they feel confident and comfortable with the therapist.

If someone decides to proceed and books an appointment then various techniques will be used to gently guide the client into a state where the mind and body are relaxed.  This may be by using a progressive muscle relaxation exercise or a visualization technique.  Normally people will feel aware but very relaxed, almost like daydreaming.  

It is at this point of relaxation that the beneficial changes that the client desires can be induced. 

It is important that  you remember that you are always in control and using your own very powerful inner resources to bring about the desired change.
